Short biography
My name is Cecilie Koefoed-Nielsen, and I have been a medical doctor for 7 years now. I just started as a PhD student this fall, 2023. I have worked both in General Practice, Internal medicine, Acute Medicine and the last two years at Department of Oncology with many different cancer diagnosis, mostly Lung Cancer and GI cancer.
Contribution to ONCOVALUE Research
In ONCOVALUE I contribute with my research in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, which I am writing a PhD Thesis about concerning driver mutations and the treatment with of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in a real-world setting. My work lies mostly in Work Package 1: ‘Guidelines, standards, and SOPs for RWD collection based on fully structured data’. I conduct the research in collaboration with Andreas Frederik Henriksen (MD and PhD student), Andreas Bjerrum (MD and co-supervisor) and Ulrik Lassen (Chief of Department of Onoclogy and my principal supervisor).
Challenges in ONCOVALUE
If each site of the ONCOVALUE collaboration have had both data scientists and medical doctors we would have had the best fundament to understand the different aspects of the data collection, variables definitions and other important aspects of the ONCOVALUE working packages.
Expectations and Aspirations
I am looking forward to enhance the quality of my research through collaboration with the ONCOVALUE team. Right now, our focus is on data management, and the team comprises a diverse set of professionals, including data scientists, biologists, and medical doctors. I think that this interdisciplinary approach will significantly augment the validity and robustness of our research.
