Ilaria’s role in the project
I am the Work Package co-leader at IRST in Italy. To be specific in Work Package 4: ‘Demonstrating the validity of developed solutions in different European cancer centres‘. Together with IPO in Porto, Portugal, we are working on the validation side of the ONCOVALUE project.
Research focus
Maintaining the sustainability of the European healthcare system for the treatment of cancer has been the objective of my activity in IRST since 2016. ONCOVALUE’s aim to unlock the full potential of real-world data (RWD) of cancer hospitals and research institutes and enabling value-based care is perfectly in line with that aim.
Challenges in ONCOVALUE
Our biggest challenge will be put into practice the innovative solutions developed within the project. This means the tools and also the potential of RWD. ONCOVALUE represents an important chance of networking and benchmarking. Thus, it can represent a chance for care quality improvement by itself.
